The Homestead Cooker History

The Homestead Cooker was first manufactured in Beveridge Victoria by Barry Burrowes and Rod Toy in 1980.

Patterns fabricated by Ray Goodwin, previously from Blackwell IXL.

Inspired by the C Andrews cast iron wood cooker of Geelong.
Continued manufacture as The Kangaroo Stove by the Furphy Foundry in Shepparton.
Later returned to and manufactured by the Burrowes family from Ebony Stove Works in Buninyong Victoria until 2003.
Woodfirestove endeavour to supply maintenance parts to keep these magnificent stoves in service.
