Highland Grey is a premium pure wool hearth rug featuring a richly textured Berber loop construction in natural grey stone tones. The blend of soft grey fibres creates depth and character, while the coordinated rustic overlocking enhances its authentic handcrafted appearance. Designed to complement both traditional and contemporary fireplaces, Highland Grey brings warmth, texture and timeless style to the heart of the home.
This premium-quality hearth rug is finished with a durable hessian backing, providing excellent stability and longevity. The subtle unevenness of the hand-machined overlocking forms part of the rug's artisan character, complementing the natural individuality of the wool.
Measuring a generous 70cm x 150cm, Highland Grey offers additional hearth coverage compared with our standard 70cm x 120cm size, making it particularly well suited to larger fireplaces, wood heaters and traditional wood cookers.
Wool’s naturally flame-retardant properties make it an excellent choice for hearth settings. Unlike many synthetic fibres, wool is inherently resistant to ignition and self-extinguishing when the source of flame is removed. While no hearth rug should be considered fireproof, wool provides an additional level of reassurance when used responsibly around fireplaces and wood heaters.

Wool fireside hearth rugs have exceptionally low levels of flammability and represent the best choice for creating safe, healthy indoor environments. Its higher ignition temperature makes wool much more difficult to ignite when exposed to flames.
Our Wool Hearth rugs are designed to assist in protecting floor surfaces from incidental ash or sparks but should not be considered fireproof or a substitute for appropriate fireplace safety practices.
